We have the weather trio, the origin trio and the orignal dragon (trio).
Now that Regigigas is confirmed to be Ho-oh's and Lugia's real 3rd (sorry Suicune), they need a name too.
Master trio? Cause their thing was having their own mini-trios?

Guardian trio? Ho-Oh is often referred to as "guardian of the skies" and Lugia as "guardian of the sea." While Regigigas isn't described anywhere as the "guardian of the land," the Dex entries claim it once pulled continents or landmasses with ropes. I feel like it would go well with the theming of the Weather Trio.

The graph is separated into inner and outer gods, with the inner gods being more powerful. The lake trio and everything the the circle they form the rim of are inner gods or the servant of inner gods.
In the graph the Outer Gods Lugia, Ho-oh, and Regigas are called gods of creation and their minions are servant gods, with the mythicals being called hidden gods.

I can see Ho-oh being a high tier. It can create and recreate life. That's some insane shit. Controlling the ground, ocean, and sky is impressive though. Not really sure what Lugia and Regi do in the game lore. Lugia just kinda lives in a waterfall after Zapdos burned it's house down.

gigas also creates life, it built the regis after all. it's different from ho-oh's way of doing it, but that's still a common link. i do have to wonder about lugia, though.

Also the Regis are made up of materials within the Earth: Steel (iron within the core), Rock (all over the Earth), and Ice (permafrost in cold regions)

They also agree on other aspects:
Size: Regigigas belongs to the closed circle of Pokemon with the size of a Pokemon Boxart.
Stats: even though it has Slow Start, this Pokemon is close to 680 BST.
All masters of a sublegendary trio.
Colors (one is blue and the other red, while Regigigas has green and yellow like many complements).

Of course, it's neither official nor canonical that they form a trio. But I like to think they created Regigigas with an ulterior motive of aligning him with Ho-Oh and Lugia.
