I honestly would like that a lot. It's a region of the world we haven't experienced in the Pokémon games and it'd give them a chance to focus more on the adventure vibe. Works well with open world. Has the potential to be like Wind Waker

Alola barely had the island hopping feature since you'd just take a boat to the next region. This'd be open world and have you actually travelling the seas and islands like Hoenn, but in 3D. It has a lot of potential to be kino. Think of all the event islands in Hoenn like Mirage Island, the Mew island, Navel Rock. But blown up to a whole game. There could be a whole island that the evil team took over. Or if they wanna be funny there could be a Bidoof island where Bidoof and Bibarel are the only residents. Idea has a lot of potential

If they’re continuing the theme of regions being based after famous countries with a pokemon version of a big landmark, they can’t do Indonesia
X and Y were revealed with the Eiffel Tower, Sun and Moon had a blatant Hawaiian aesthetic, Sword and Shield have London and Big Ben, and the Sagrada Familia and Plaza Mayor locations were in SV’s reveal, what does Indonesia have that the general public could see and recognise immediately? Nothing

Unova does have a building called Liberty Garden in the same irl location as the Statue of Liberty, but it’s just a lighthouse, if they followed the gem 6+ design philosophy I’m sure we’d have gotten a blatant Pikachu of Liberty or something

This is what I’ve been saying for a while, countries controversial in any way will never be selected as an inspiration for a region, this is the same process the Mario Kart cities were selected, note how the countries represented by tracks in Mario Kart have no big political or social issues (except maybe Thailand)? And that every country that inspired a pokemon region also has rep in Mario Kart?

Hoenn had mainland and islands. Greece has mainland and islands, and almost in the same orientation. Mainland from top right to top left, and top left to top bottom, leaving all the right portion to islands. Shape of mainland is way different though.

Anyway, as a Greek I would love for my country to be represented, but there are many other reasons why it won't, besides similarity to Hoenn.
