Game Freak has multiplied itself since then and they have less to do every gen. Literally no reason why these would take more than 2 years tops. It's the same gym challenge every time, maybe slightly repackaged, it's the same tropes and nothing is even remotely ambitious. Hell, they have less features than HGSS by default.

Assuming you're not baiting and you genuinely are this retarded:
1) Modern HD games require a lot more resources than low-res 2D games. The textures and models alone require a lot more work just to look presentable.
2) HGSS used the same game engine as DP, so most of the ground work was already done for them. They just needed to add the assets.
3) Since it was a remake, most of the concept and design phase was already complete. So they could focus solely on the production phase.

they have sprite/model quotas per week. Sometimes in the hundreds. They aren't chiseling sprites out of stone like David. They look at reference art and paint in a 64x64 pixel box.

You know you can download map making tools and whip up Goldenrod from a blank map in about an hour right?
