At best we lose a few troons/feminists/tylphosionfags, but that's going to be 0.00001% of the customer base.

Now if PL-ZA is actually in there and get leaked way before release, it might actually make a small dent in GF's profits.
Not that it will actually matter either, since 99% of their budgets come from merch anway, but still.

As a millennial the last game I bought was the OG Silver.
And the last game I finished on emulator was Emerald.

They would have done so ages ago if they could.
GF has like 30% share in TPCi, the most profitable merch company in the world.
Just the value of *that* is enough to make them nearly impossible to buy, even if the studio itself has no value.

Disagree, I think more people will buy pokemon games. One of the most common complaints has always been that people want more adult themes in Pokemon. Now we have background info that says that is the origin myth that they can't put in the games. The leaks are the best publicity GF could have ever received. Even a good game wouldn't drive these many sales for them. Hard to think of another mainstream franchise that has this level of adult content direct from the creators.
