There's only Chuugoku left that they could turn out to be an interesting region.

The only interesting part of Shikoku (Tokushima and its whirlpools) are already part of Johto.

Chuubu is mostly part of Kanto and Johto, there's only the west coast left.

Touhoku would be Kanto but with snow.

While I do agree with >>56637692, but mostly because 3 european regions in a row is boring, if the rumours are true, an archipelago region is going mostly likely to be Greece. I can't see them doing Indonesia and we already had UK.

Sinnoh and Galar are functionally the same as Kanto/Jotho, Unova, Kalos, etc
They are "islands" but have very few water routes and they aren't built around water like Hoenn or Alola

The real problem is that - starting from gen V- regions aren't built to feel believable, they're built to feel like theme parks

The regions from Gen V onward simply make no sense in terms of geography, climate, etc.
I like BW but look at this shit. Snowy mountains sprouting from lush forest? A fucking desert right in the middle?

Brazil is famous in Japan due to massive immigration in the past century. There are actual japanese colonies in major Brazil cities.
Both countries have good international relations despite Brazil's leftist government and Japan being basically asian US. I see as an good option but I can't see them turning it into an archipelago. Maybe for Gen XI.

The desert was supposed to represent Nevada desert and Castelia was supposed to have some LA elements (already confirmed by beta sketches and by Masuda). Unova is indeed our US region and they tried to represent everything they could. That's why I don't believe they will ever come back to California, specially due to Pokestar Studios (Named Pokewood in Japan). Even Nimbasa have Orlando/Disney elements. There's only NASA left that they could explore.

It's called abstraction, you retard.
Real Kanto is as much of a soulless concrete sprawl as is NYC.
Besides NYC is super fucking diverse. East Unova in particular encapsulates the Brooklyn-Queens feeling very well IMHO (Lentimas being roughly where Corona is IRL).
Manhattan can be a bit of a hit and miss (albeit more accurate in Black 2 with all the development going on, Join Avenue representing Manhattan Mall for example).
Still, props to GF for glassing everything from Tribeca to Midtown. Absolutely nothing of value was lost.
