Why the fuck did they do that? Why do Gamefreak hate Garchomp? Are Gamefreak full of vindictive, petty and assmad Flygonfags or something? It's the only reasonable explanation for why someone would ever want to nerf Mega Garchomp

Used to run a Focus sash Speed Boost, Protect, Baton Pass, Sword Dance Sociolpede and an Impish Mega Garchomp in gen 6 Uber.
Mf could sweep villages.
No mon stood a chance against a 2x attack 2x Speed Garchomp.

I ran mixed Mega 'Chomp. 120 SpA is solid, and 170 Atk is so ludicurously high that it doesn't need investment to hit like a truck. You get hit by a surprise Draco Meteor, think "okay, this is a funny gimmick", and then get hit by a surprise Earthquake.

Mega chomp was a wall breaker in it's purest form, people had no idea how to use it nor the fact that it's one of those megas that you don't build your team around but use as a problem solver when you build your team around something else

Earthquake, draco meteor and fireblast was all you needed to bend any defensive pokemon in half, sandforce and swords dance are nice but not even needed at that point

The problem is that megas were things you did want to build your team around, especially the strong ones, so there wasn't much room for Mega Chomp.
It actually did get a little better in gen 7, relatively speaking, because megas weren't as central so there was room for more experimental megas.
