>>56645907I think they missed the timing, maybe it could've started an OVA tradition in the late 90s or early 2000s (like with they slowly releasing episodes adapting the arcs), but it seems somewhat more unlikely now, early content has controversial parts or simply feels kinda chuuni for today's standards, at least they started to recognize that a demand for Pokemon animation for adults and kids alike is real, stuff like Generations/Evolutions/Poketoon/reboot movie trilogy which includes death/the 30th aniversary movie which will follow a similar vibe and style, etc.
Maybe they could market pokespe in that same category of "adult animation", probably is still that it has a lot of volumes, they seem to prefer one-and-done kind of stuff, maybe because it's easier to ask for big studios to just do one small project, rather than dedicating their whole workforce for years on end trying to adapt the whole manga.
Unlikely? Yes, but not impossible.
