They need a scapegoat and for gen alpha poke fans Typhlosion is the perfect target, a long neglected Pokémon that was just starting to get some love from Game Freak, with a surprisingly large fanbase considering how little it was ever shilled. Forever associating it with the single most despised crime and tearing Typhlosion down just as it was starting to climb up and inflicting misery on all its fans is just they type of petty pointless cruelty they love.
Typhlosion is is fans are now pariahs within the pokemon community and most people outside the fanbase will likely have their first exposure to Typhlosion be by this disgusting "joke"
I'll be extremely generous and give Game Freak/TPC the benefit of the assume they'll use some common sense for once and not blame Typhlosion and just treat it like any average starter, but these are the same people who canceled Porygon for something it didn't do so I don't have my hopes up.
