I wish they would just mention one Chinese region just for background and fans could fill in the rest with theories.

For example, Dr. Lin from Unite (The game was created in cooperation with Tencent, a giant Chinese company) would be the perfect character to drop cryptic lore from her home region, without getting into controversial topics.

Or something like Lunala's video set in the Chinese mountains.
