Pokemon has been gathering fans that want to fuck pokemon for ages now. It's only recently that puritanism and hyper-sexuality has been prominent enough on the internet for this to mean anything. It doesn't matter if it's not canon, the fans will MAKE it canon. People can ignore it and just go back to what they were doing, but the wider community will now and forevermore be plagued by this just because Gamefreak didn't take any precautions with either security or foresight
