I'm not a genwunner and I enjoy later games
but honestly I do think they make a good case...
Playing Sun and Moon more then once feels like torture and playing something like platinum always feels like the same run each time
But you can play rby(g) back to back and always have a different team with a different janky experience!
I can't be the only one that thinks that way.

Gen1 was made based on Tajiri's hobby of collecting insects so he poured his soul into it.
Gen2 was supposed to be his final game, but Jewtindo decided to turn the franchise into Talmudic coomer bait trash to corrupt children while pushing collecting (wasting money) culture from Gen3 onward.

I sometimes wonder about Pokemon actually having ended at gen 2. And the anime ending like shudo wanted it to. Would be a comfy cult following after everyone else forgot about it

It took until DS zoomers became nostalgia fags in their own right but I think its really interesting how they and genwunners back each other up these days if only because things keep trending downward.

Also how gens 2-3 are considered peak rn even though people identify with DS era or gen 1. Guess its just a good middleground.

I say all of this as someone who actually lived through pokemania as a child, unlike you zoomer fucks. Sure I liked it as a kid, but playing Gen 1 today is like kicking my bare foot into a refrigerator levels of painful. It's just unplayable half-assed garbage.

I mean when you compare to the rest of handheld gaming yeah. Most GB rpgs were super basic see Final Fantasy Legend while Gen 1 was ambitious as hell, well over a hundred possible party members with their own moves, a vast world to explore, half way through you could basically do the gyms in any order.

The problem is the games never evolved that much and by the GBA stuff like Golden Sun and the FF remakes were soundly mogging the ruby and sapphire in terms of like complexity and story. Pokemon wasn't really as special anymore.

As a zoomer genwunner myself, only gen 3 seems to be the better middleground.
Gen 2 feels like eating sawdust
