however, most people do have a certain way to collect, mainly by set or pokedex, but others do by illustrator, promos, shinies or whatever you can think of
personally I have a binder for stuff in standard rotation, and when it rotates out I move stuff into the "permanent" binders, where I store them by region/pokedex/set
I also have binders for special master sets (celebrations, pokego, crown zenith, etc), and another for seasonal/holiday promos
I prefer to have cards in a specific binder first, like a holiday promo or illustration next to the others of its kind, but if I have repeats I then store them in the general "permanent" binders
