Pokemon has a lot of enemies that will never stop trying, and failing, to bring down the king. I don't know if you remember when they shilled Cyber Sleuth, Yokai, Temtem, Palworld, etc, they all failed. They even tried to spam "Pokemon copied all the dragon quest monsters". Now that "the Pokemon creators are pedos and write pedo fanfic" failed it has naturally evolved to "they are putting black people and trans characters in the games." Pokemon has as many enemies as it has fans.
Personally I don't buy games that don't have all the Pokemon in it but I can't dispute the sales and how much children love the switch games.
