>>56701533Actual answer: If the artist is looking to get hired professionally or get commissions but their art is constantly reposted online, it can seriously effect their chances of getting work as they will have to jump through hoops to prove that the work is theirs. (That is, if the hiring manager doesn't dismiss their portfolio in the first place on suspicion that it is all stolen.)
Also people are assholes and will often crop or erase an artist's signature when reposting. This makes it harder for people who actually like the art to find the original artist. I've also seen scenarios where a random Pintrest reposter is credited for the art instead of the artist. This is why so many signatures are so big and obnoxious now.
So yes, on one hand it's nice to get more eyes on an artists work. On the other hand it's not great when it comes at the potential expense of the artist's job opportunities.
