The latter really shows how a lot of fans REALLY just want an attractive young girl character, because Marnie is certainly not beloved cause of her character and writing. It's all about her design, that's the only thing that makes her popular, and she's VERY popular.
In SV, all attractive girls are older or even adults. Nemona is probably around 16, too old for lolicons. Same goes for Carmine who might even be a bit older. Penny would be the right age, but her oversized sweater and short hair makes her design too androgynous. The MC is wearing the school uniform, the aforementioned issues apply. All other young girls are too irrelevant, even if they exist, like Mela.
The only important character who is young enough is Kieran, and he's obviously male. If he was female, there probably would've been hundreds of people who gooned themselves to death.
So yeah, lolicons didn't get shit this gen, and that's why a lot of people on /vp/ don't like gen 9.
They should've made Iono a lolibaba or something. I mean she kinda is one because she's apparently older than most people think, but if she looked more like a teenager, she'd be quite a bit more popular than she already is.
