I used him recently and dude is just power. Fire punch kills most things and then you have cool options like belly drum.

Gallade in SV was one I enjoyed using a lot
>can get it as a ralts at the start of the game or as kirlia on titan orthworm's route
>open world so you can get a dawn stone right away
>gets sacred sword, night slash, leaf blade and aqua cutter via relearner
>sharpness + 125 attack shreds everything
>learns hypnosis and false swipe if you want something for captures
Only downside is that it doesn't get psycho cut until 40 something but you can find zen headbutt as a TM if you really want psychic coverage

Chestnaught feels really underrated. It was the only defensive Pokemon I had the most fun with.

Huge Power Azumarill was my MVP in Scarlet. Evolves super early at lv 18, 100 attack 90 power moves, bulky, it just works

I really enjoyed using Gallade too in Platinum. lots of coverage, strong, relatively fast, but also kind of squishy so you have to stay on your toes. it's really satisfying. setting up swords dance and sweeping Cynthia with him was a great moment.

You can get one in ORAS easily with the DexNav. I got several while farming them to trade on the GTS earlier this year.
