He's on record saying something to the effect of wanting to challenge kids with new vocabulary so the game being engaging would also serve an educational purpose and it's definitely done that for me and a lot of others (can think of so many words I learned from mons as a kid).
It's such a novel approach to localization that it shouldn't have worked at all but he had the skill to pull it off anyways. Even when I was young I remember clocking that the games had this very distinct, if not mature writing style to them and even then lil anon found it pretty charming. He's up there with Alexander O Smith for best localizers ever for me.
