The legends are much available than Hydreigon. Hydreigon should be in the lower tiers, the high level requeriment, exp scaling and the fact that Deino/Zweilous are locked to Victory Road means that you'll have to grind and it's completely impratical using one.

if you're taking all of that into account, hydreigon deserves to be down in F tier. thanks to BW's EXP system you need to spend an inordinate amount of time grinding to get it before postgame, and it's not even obtainable until fucking victory road.

Mienshao a good Pokemon in the post game, but I almost never have it evolved before the Champion battle. Even when I'm taking it through the E4 it's still a Mienfoo because of its ridiculous evolution level. I mean, the same goes for Bisharp, who evolves 2 levels later, but in Bisharp's case Pawniard is actually pretty decent into the E4. It's got enough bulk (especially with Eviolite) to take hits from all of the E4 except for Marshall, and Pawniard gets STAB Night Slash right around the time it's fighting the E4 which lets it make quick work of Caitlin and Shauntal while also being decent into Grimsley. Pawniard also gets Brick Break which lets it take out Grimsley while quad-resisting Dark.

Then when it comes to the champion, Bisharp is just better overall in B2/W2. Steel is a really good type, and considering neither of your Pokemon are going to have a full set of EVs for the champion's battle, the slower and bulkier Bisharp is a lot better than Mienshao. Mienshao hits harder, but unless you went out of your way to raise its Attack by grinding before the E4, it's not going to hit the damage thresholds it needs to kill anything before they kill it. Mienshao is better against Ghetsis since Ghetsis' entire team has something to hit Bisharp for SE, but against Iris, Bisharp is the superior choice.

Hydreigon is ranked as low as it is primarily because you're basically going to be using a Zweilous that entire time and that's where Zweilous would rank. It's not a bad Pokemon since it has some decent STAB options, very respectable bulk with Eviolite, and it can hit surprisingly hard due to the 50% damage boost Hustle gives it. But on the other hand, it's very inconsistent because of the accuracy drop.

If you were to rate them based on how well they'd preform if you hacked in the fully evolved Pokemon at level 5 and used it from there, Hydreigon would probably be S-tier. It sits in C-tier just because Zweilous is that good.

Swap Simipour and Samurott. Simipour is fully evolved at Castelia with almost 100/100/100 in both attack stats and speed, gets 80BP STAB Scald immediatly, and can learn a ton of coverage moves for both of its mixed stats like Acrobatics, Grass Knot, Rock Slide and Ice Beam. Work Up with its massive coverage can solo most bosses.

like seriously, it's right next to durant, also a victory road catch, except durant comes fully evolved, has much better offensive stats, an actually good typing for the few fights remaining, an actual movepool, and can patch up the hustle issue with hone claws instead of having to roll the dice every damn turn. that doesn't strike you as bad placement?

Anon, that's a fucking Leavanny. It has 6 weaknesses, 2 of which are 4x. You've got Simisear by that point if you want to use a monkey for a free win, but you also have access to Darumaka which is also a free win. Tranquill, Swoobat, Golbat/Crobat, and even Whirlipede all shit on Leavanny. The only way I could imagine someone running Dewott having an issue with Leavanny is if you're running monotype or a mono-Pokemon team.

Durant is far squishier, especially on the special side, and won't be hitting hard enough to nab the OHKOs it needs to without setting up Hone Claws or risking the Hustle miss chance on such a fragile Pokemon. Not to mention the abundance of Fire type attacks on Ghetsis' team making Durant dead weight against all of his Pokemon except for Bisharp.

Zweilous has pretty decent matchups into the E4 and Ghetsis, it's just incredibly inconsistent. Durant is more consistent - though still risky - and is as specially frail as Pikachu.

I think between Samurott and Emboar the major distinction is that Unova's other water types are very shitty, only Seismitoad is okay and it's very bad until it evolves. Whereas if you don't take Emboar you can easily get Darmanitan who is even better or any of the like 3 other better Fighting types.

See, now you're involving other pokemon when the conversation's specifically about Emboar's line and Samurott's line and their placements. I can get a Seismitoad and Simisage to shit on Clay. That's not the point. Burgh's Leavanny will outspeed you in-game and use Razor leaf, it's ggs.

D-tier is about right since Sawk gets fuck all for good moves. It gets CC at level 49 and before that its best option is Brick Break at level 29. Plus it can be obnoxious to find as a 5% encounter chance in rustling grass in White. It's just not that great of a Pokemon to use in game because it's basically running all Fighting type attacks until you get Rock Slide in Mistralton Cave.

And worst of all, its catch rate is extremely low making it a huge pain in the ass to catch before you get better Pokeballs later. Seriously, Sawk has the same catch rate as fucking Zekrom.

D-tier is still very solid. Those are all good Pokemon for in game usage, they're just not as good as the options above them for a number of factors. Sawk i

I've wanted to use a garbodor, darmanitan, musharna, carracosta, cofagrigus and druddigon before, but I'm unsure what starter to pick. usually I either box my starter and go for the simi or I go for pignite and only pignite, and IDK what to do. maybe simisage because then I could use almost all of those other pokemon pretty easily?

Why do you think every Thundurus in late Gen 5 was running a slow, bulky set? It's because fast Thundurus wasn't hitting hard enough to justify the investment, but if you made it slow and fat it could land 2 weak Tbolts and deal more damage than 1 strong Tbolt. Fat Thundurus was the 2nd most used Pokemon in VGC.

The difference is catching Liepard on route 2 doesn't stop you from using Krookodile or Scrafty or whatever later. But by picking Tepig over Oshawott you are losing the ability to have a good Water type forever.

VGC runs on the same principles as in game battling. If your fast, frail attacker isn't getting OHKOs, it's useless. If you aren't getting the OHKO, it's better to be slow and bulky than fast and frail.

Durant isn't bad. Never said it was. I'm just saying that it's hardly a tier above Zweilous. It's not nabbing the OHKOs it needs to, and its same proclivity to miss (due to both of them having Hustle as their only real ability) makes it a risky proposition since any special attacker and any Fire type attack is going to drop it. Even some strong neutral physical attacks will tear a hole in Durant. Ghetsis' Bouffalant is capable of picking up a 2HKO on Durant if you don't have good Def EVs, and that's just with EQ or Head Charge.

Garchomp is pretty good cause it actually has a fairly low evolution level, you can catch Gible early, and Gabite is much better than any of the other second stages.

Gabite's not actually significantly better than the other stage 2 psuedos. Dragonair, Zweilous, and especially Sliggoo are all very solid. I can't comment on Drakloak or Arctibax since I refuse to play the Dexit games, but they look like they could be decent.

I say this as someone whose favorite Dragon is Garchomp. I've used it in D/P and X/Y. Gabite's main advantage over the others is that it evolves way earlier. Sliggoo only evolves 2 levels later, though, and its stats are way better in the interim.

Samurott has a fantastic move pool. Megahorn is a top tier move and it's got decent coverage with Revenge, Dig, Aerial Ace, and Grass Knot. Simipour meanwhile learns no moves by level up and gets only a small handful of TMs that it can learn that Samurott can't.

Barely anybody uses Electrics in gen 5, there's Elesa and Ghetsis' Eelektross and that's it. The 4x Grass weakness is way more crippling than Electric immunity is a benefit.

Durant's effective attack isn't so significantly higher than Zweilous that it's picking up OHKOs where Zweilous wouldn't unless you go out of your way to EV train it. What, exactly, are you using Durant against in the late game that it's significantly better than Zweilous against? Grimsley? I guess it does better against Marshal, but it's still not a comfortable fight since Sawk, Throh, and Conkeldurr all have a decent matchup against it.

Should this take into account the BW rematch Elite 4? Because recent leaks have shed light that the first run through them is meant to showcase Alder's weak confidence and the Elite 4's, hence the different dialogue when you revisit them. Plus you can only fight Alder in the actual run (the Elite 4 "rematch") so that would mean taking into account their level 75 teams.

Samurott doesn't need it. It's got Megahorn/Aerial Ace to cover Grass types and Dig to cover Electric types. Its Surf/Hydro Pump is going to be doing nearly as much to Flying types as Rock Slide would when you factor in STAB. Hell, Hydro Pump outright hits harder (180 power with STAB vs 150 power on SE Rock Slide)

Steel resists Ghost, sure, but Durant still gets blown up by Shadow Ball. I'm pretty sure Ghetsis has EVs/IVs on all his Pokemon just like every final boss since Cynthia. I can't find the team sheet for his B/W encounter, but in B2/W2 he has 24 IVs across the board and has EVs specced into SpA which is why Cofagrigus hits Durant for so much damage.

All wild caught Pokemon have shit IVs. That's why people breed. You're lucky if you get more than 1 or 2 IVs of 15 or above. Like, that's a 1 in 30 chance. And to have them in the stats you need is even rarer.

I can't find any record of his actual in game stats. The only ones I've seen for B/W are 31 IVs with unknown EVs. I'm going to have to ask you for a source for this claim of yours.

Even if Cofagrigus has fucked up stats for some reason, it's still not going down in 1 hit unless you set up for several turns. Even at +1 with 100 EVs and a solid 15 IVs in Attack it's still got a chance of not 2HKO'ing after you factor in Mummy taking away Hustle.

Agreed on Darm being S tier, but I also don't think it's game breaking. It's not all that fast and it's also rather frail. With recoil, it can easily KO itself after eating a stray hit.

With a hindered speed stat it outspeeds almost everything in the game. You can safely bellydrum and nothing touches you. Recoil moves are almost unnecessary. I had sit out the endgame because it just a win button. If it's not broken it's the most overpowered Pokemon in the game.

That's not even a leaks thing, it's pretty obvious when actually playing the game. The most blatant thing for people whose eyes glaze over during most of the cutscenes is the fact that you don't get entered in the Hall of Fame. It's one of those "is Red the final boss?" questions but the fact that it is a question worth asking. I'd just make two separate lists for Credits and Hall of Fame, personally.
