Doesn't this shit splinter off of Ash's story by the second movie? What were the point of these movies, they aren't really retellings. It's the same shit as what happened to Rebuild/FFVII

Why are we in an era of remaking an original story but then going off in a completely different, unnatural direction that has nothing to do with why people liked the original? It doesn't appeal to anybody

I Choose You didn't resonate with audiences outside of Japan because of how shittily the dub handled the most important scenes.
Power of Us was too different for most to digest and enjoy, and then Secrets of the Jungle lost all attendance traction due to COVID.

This is just my boomer opinion, but I Choose You was very confusing. You have Ash, but no Brock or Misty or Gary? The original cast was funny, because they had different temperaments and didn't always get along. Even Pikachu was a little shit half the time, and Charizard's arc ran all the way through Gen 2. But in the movie it's like they speedrun all of Ash's growth. Idk, it wasn't for me.

had more to do with Jung's life work (integrating his Marshadow), a death and rebirth (HoOh is the Phoenix), and escaping the Matrix (when he wakes up from the dream)
It is a very freemasonic film that simply went over the heads of the adults who were looking at their phones while they watched the dubbed version.

I don't know man, you can put really cool cultural and psychological themes in these movies and I appreciate the writers for doing that, but it feels like misplaced effort in products the target audience wasn't going to understand anyway

I went through my fool's journey by being able to look back at the hints that exist in geometry, architecture, and even some modern media.
It was worth the effort for them to tell the story like that because some of those kids are going to grow up, look back on their life, and see that the answers they were looking for were already experiences they had done before.

No fuck that hire some competent anime staff and give them the full creative control to design their own anime unique region complete with a cast of their own and a unique legendary Pokemon or two of their own design to be the center of the narrative's guiding mystery and climax. Then let GF lazily slap that Pokemon in a mystery gift in whatever game releases after. Competent anime staff can pull off cool shit like Lugia with creative control.
