Trying to go for a shiny max size metagross and this shit fucking sucks.
Doing metang outbreaks and I'm now starting to run low on herba.

I'm also about to run out of level balls.
I think I have caught like 16 shiny metangs so far, done like 25 sandwiches and spent like 14 hours so far.

Sandwiches, is there a secret to this or I just basically have to get lucky?

Between the low catch rate and having to actively check every little pixel on the snow to make sure it's grey and not metallic blue gets annoying real quick.
That said if anyone has some level balls and wants a shiny metang hit me up.

I don't have much experience using the PokeRadar in DPPt.

First time I've ever found a shiny in the early routes of a game, pity it wasn't a brand new game.

3 years ago there was a fad going on in /shw/ of running through a game using a shiny-only team. I picked it up and have rounded up a pretty decent team, but dropped it back then because ??? (Dropping Pokemon games mid-playthrough is the norm for me I guess) but decided to pick it back up today, currently in the middle on the Rocket raid on Goldenrod

Some one explain to me your guys code? Do you use emulators? If you can't transfer to Pokemon Home then what's the point. I recently bought ultra moon and was excited to start that but I can't download Pokemon bank anymore so now I'm stuck with switch games. I have leaf green on my phone and I love playing it on my phone especially with the fast forward option. But if I find a shiny it's stuck on my phone too. Do you guys only play switch?

Not at all. Just enter the same type of grass every time and catch the pokemon for 99% encounter ratio.
Guides say to enter the furthest grass of the same type, but personally I never give a fuck and it hardly seems to matter. I completed over 100 radar hunts as of now and with time i stopped sticking to the rules, with nearly identical results. Just chain to 40 and run around till you hit the shiny patch. And never step into the grass directly above you because it can shake without being visible to you and fuck you up.

Just mod your 3DS and install bank. You can transfer your pokemon from your mobile emulator to gen7 through pkhex, and then it will go through bank normally.

Right now just grinding through the Home Dex to get the Meloetta, flipping through Wonder Trades while at work, hoping I get something I can use.
GTS is useless for minor stuff this late in the game, so I'm going to have to breed for a Passimian and Misdrevous with the SV mark.
Haven't even touched the Kitakami Dex yet, and still need to finish the story for Blueberry Academy and get it's Legends.

About 7 boxes of eggs in Ultra Sun. Way quicker than my last shiny hunt. Also the olive color looks way nicer on Misdreavus than it does on its evolution.

As a non-regular, let me put it to you: why do you care about Home? I shiny hunt because I like shinies, that's all there is to it. I do have Bank in my 3DS and I got the mobile version of Home for GO purposes, but I just like the sense of accomplishment of finishing a hunt.
I'm currently in the middle of two hunts; one on BDSP and one on HGSS. Probably neither of them will be sent to Home unless I absolutely have in the future. I'm content just having them.

I do have a hacked 3DS and save backups for preservation purposes, of course.

I'm doing my Heartgold badgequest right now too. I'm waiting to take on Whitney as I hunt my target Aipom. I just found my first phase for this badge which was a shiny Heracross. I caught it in a love ball and I managed to synchronize it with a jolly nature. I hope to sync the eventual Aipom as well.

Now I headbutt hunt at the same tree I caught my Hera excitedly awaiting my Aipom.
