The only "problem" is that we are talking about art. About a fictionnal "region" that is supposed to act as a symbol for something real
For example, Pallet town doesnt *really* have 2 houses. It has two houses so your brain understands its a super small village and your subconscious fills in the blanks.
So while you can have a badlands and a marsh next to a big city IRL, when you make those a significant part of your region it throws the thematic balance out of whack. The toronto marsh IRL is tiny compared to canada. The marsh in Kalos takes up a big part of the map. The result is that Kalos feels like it has no climate. It's random.
Sinnoh has a thematic identity: it's cold
The battle zone is "visible" on the map but it's treated as another (small) region altogether. The NPCs even reference it "oh you are from sinnoh?"
So even if it's not "realistic" it doesnt thematically clashes with Sinnoh and they have an in-universe explanation to why it has a tropical climate despite the cold ocean = The big ass volcano with a legendary inside
