>>56780530>Radically different graphical style compared to the mostly consistent FRLG to B2W2>Type chart completely changed compared to Gen 2-5>Added the gimmick button to the UI>New release schedule that puts different pressures on the development teams>Entirely different hardwareThere have been less reasons for people to separate eras of Pokemon, I'd argue it's probably the biggest shift since Gen 2 to 3 completely changing the data structure.
For the record, Pokemon can roughly be divided into 4 major eras, with a huge divide between the two halves
>Gen 1-2 for similar data structure and attempt at design philosophy despite Masuda taking over late in Gen 2>Gen 3-5 given the similar stylistic and mechanical choices>Gen 6-7 given the transitional nature from the older style of games to more modern takes as well as Ohmori slowly replacing Masuda as the main director>Gen 8 (including LGPE) due to huge sweeping changes to how the games are madeYou'll notice that they all roughly fit into general console generations, with the GB(C) era mostly being counted together as the Color wasn't that huge of a leap and the GBA games included with the DS titles due to Masuda's overarching plan with RS and DP and BW's lack of mechanical innovation because the game was more or less fine at that point.
>>56780562Okay you're just a fucking weirdo. I get your logic but it has so little based on reality that you could make the same argument for RG to USUM being one era while LGPE to every game indefinitely is also a different era, and there's actually other compelling reasons to separate those eras (including every Pokemon possible in the game's code for one).
