Now, can I believe that the Regis are the closest *Pokémon* to the giants of old? Sure, but Gigas isn't one of the original giants. At best he's what resulted from their bodies combining with the divine blood.
It may seem pedantic, but that's an important distinction that, while doesn't change the overall direction of your cult's lore, it does change a couple key points that should be considered.
