>>56797727NTA: It's not THAT extreme, but it is pretty scary. If we take Five-Star Fist as written, it doesn't reduce the power of moves - they just always hit five times. Stats are important for damage calculation, but the base power of a move is slightly moreso. Let's take Mach Punch, the weakest non-multistrike punching move Ledian can learn, for example.
>252+ Atk Ledian Mach Punch vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Corviknight: 17-20 (4.2 - 5%) -- possibly the worst move everNow multiply that by five, because Ledian is hitting Corviknight five times. Ledian is doing 21~25% with a 40 power priority move, it doesn't even have STAB on, and without a held item.
>But wait, there's more!Quite a few punching moves have additional effects, and Ledian's new ability will result in five chances to proc each time. Let's look at Thunder Punch.
>252+ Atk Ledian Thunder Punch vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Corviknight: 60-72 (15 - 18%) -- possible 8HKONow we multiply that by five, and Ledian is doing 75~90% of Corviknight's max HP. But wait, Thunder Punch has a 10% chance to Paralyze. Well, since it's hitting five times, it's effectively a 41% chance to cripple Corviknight or anything that might switch in and isn't immune.
Now let's get into some goofy shit.
>Power-Up PunchPower-Up Punch will deal the same damage as Mach Punch on its first hit: 4.2~5%, and then raise Ledian's Attack one stage.
>Power-Up Punch second hit (+1 Atk)24-29 (6 - 7.2%)
>Power-Up Punch third hit (+2 Atk)32-38 (8 - 9.5%)
>Power-Up Punch fourth hit (+3 Atk)39-47 (9.7 - 11.7%) -- possibly the worst move ever
>Power-Up Punch fifth hit (+4 Atk)48-57 (12 - 14.2%)
That's 39.9~47.6%, and now Ledian is at +5 Attack. With this in mind, Ledian could probably get away with neglecting any investment in Attack, and devote it all to Speed and bulk. And this is all against something specifically built for physical durability; Ledian's probably KOing anything else.
