>>56821321Honestly, I'm kinda impressed how anime kept Gary's choice of a starter as secret literally till the end of his fight against Ash in Johto league. The only mention of starter Squirtle was Samurai kid mentioning that it's trainer it beaten his ass before Ash but it was not revealed then who owned it.
Also I kinda liked the Charizard vs Blastoise finale. Ash and Zard really needed to think outside of the box and the plan with melting rocks in arena to force Blastoise to cool them down and create fuckton of steam was kinda 300 IQ.
