It set sales records, you dumb little fuck. Highest Switch 3-day opening before L: A and SV both outmatched that (SV reclaiming the highest 3-day sales for the system outright). Nintendo DID also announce they had a massive digital-only revenue driven by the SS DLC for EoFY '21 which all but confirms the DLC sold similar if not greater numbers than third versions ever did, while being $10-$20 dollars cheaper than third versions to boot(because DS games were $40 and 3DS were $45-$50 and the DLC packs have only ever been $30). Should have realised that when the base game sold 16m first year and finished up with over 25m by the time they'd launched SV.

Raw unit sold numbers, Sword & Shield nearly beat Sun & Moon’s lifetime in 3 months, before Sword & Shield’s DLC released. That means GF made bank on Gens 8 and 9 thanks to the $60 price point and a $30 Expansion.

Assuming a 50% DLC attach rate, GF sold more copies of the $75 Gen 8 than the $40 Gen 7
