While the game does use some of the worse tropes (lava dunk) that've lingered since Reborn, the overall plot of Desolation is leaps and bounds ahead of the rest.
Desolation is something more akin to a mystery game and it actively leaves breadcrumbs for the player to figure out the twist ahead of time before the curtain is pulled up. A stark contrast from Rejuv and Reborn's tendencies to have stupid shit happen just to "subvert expectations". While Desolation does have some tropes I don't like and some characters I don't like, it has plenty of characters I actually do like as well as encouraging active participation in its narrative in a way that Reborn and Rejuv don't really do.
Be warned though, Desolation has a few really shitass maps. The first major city you reach is among the worst city layouts I've seen in any fangame and the entire middle section of the game takes place in a different giant (thankfully better designed) city, but I'd understand being put off if it comes a little too close to Grand Dream City bullshit from Rejuv, even if it's handled significantly better.

For this one, you can just leave Verilyfag alive. It barely does shit, and Serra never even switches it out. The hail is just good for your own Blizzards, and doesn't help Radomus at all. And by the time it does go down, the Sneedslash is slower than a Flareon.
I forgot to check, but I think this is barely different from their vanilla teams. It's really sovlful how Radomus uses a Clefable here, but I think it didn't have Unaware. Also I'm enjoying how little my HP bars move, so I can't say enough how much I love these little fluffballs.

that's gym 5 done. because the game deleted my old lomantis I had to backtrack to get a new one and grind it back up, which has made bewear a bit overleveled. Remember, do not catch ANY pokemon when you get to the abandoned island until you get your entire team back.

Bit different here since mkxp-z was used, which has a modern Ruby version, some threading and renders via GL. The only thing I can suggest is copying mkxp.json from the Failsafe directory and dicking around with the settings. I think JITEnable is false by default in mkxp-z? Flipping that on might help. Could also mess with some of the framerate handling settings.

>>56856732 Hard to say, Odyssey isn't complete and is bound to get an update soon-ish I think, Ashen Frost is.....a mixed bag, I seethe about it a lot but the game has a lot of effort put into it and the first section of the game is really great, but the battles were handled by D*mice, so it's a horrible kaizo romp a good chunk of the time and it also isn't finished, not to mention it's pozzed to shit, Tectonic is neat supposedly, I couldn't play it due to some problem with my PC I think. and I don't remember if you tried Realidea, but it's really good, pretty easy though truth be told and it has a few issues with translation and minor bugs but it's an incredibly fun game throughout.
