With some trial and error Gengar ex seems super niche. Takes a while to get going AND it's just plain not very powerful. It's most useful feature is the health that can survive any nuke but Charizards and lucky Zapdos/Dragonite, but its pitiful to work with.

Higher difficulty means better % of rewards. Difficulty matters. Stamina is only lost when you win, though, so there's literally no reason not to play EX mode and just concede instantly when you open a bad hand. You can get your wins in pretty quick by simply playing like a bitch.

Event Hourglasses can only be obtained through the Beginner and Intermediate missions (15 in total)
In Advanced and Expert you only get Wonderpick Hourglasses with the missions

In Beginner and Intermediate I received 1 Chance Reward
With Advanced I received 2 Chance Rewards
On Expert I received 3 Chance Rewards

The event lasts 13 days
You get an Event Stamina every 12 hours
26 Event Stamina through regeneration
1 Stamina through the Beginner&Intermediate missions
5 at the beginning

In total you can get 32 stamina as a f2p

With Advanced you have to win 5x for a mission
With Expert you have to win 20x for one mission
+ at least one Beginner and Intermediate battle you have to fight at least 27 battles
If you make the most of everything, you can only lose a total of 5 times to complete all missions.

I can't I'm one of the people that gets glitched out pack models and my poligons are all over the place. It worked fine the first day but after that it just started glitching out, the rest of the game still works as normal but no amount of settings changes fix it, so I gotta wait for a patch, I guess.

Agreed. The perceived gap between the top decks and good decks is larger than what it seems to be in my experience. None of these decks are consistent enough that you should be seething in random matchmaking. There seem to be a lot of johns going around to cope for poor play.

Promo Meowth and Chansey are 1:1 with the non promo versions, so yeah. Go for em if you want em, but if you don't care for flairs and just want them for collection purposes, get one and don't bother ever again. My only issue with it is that if it gets even a single energy off of misty it's still uusally a win, just a much longer and drawn out one.
It's not possible to balance it though so I just have to man up or play the deck myself.

The most success I've seen out of enemy Dragonites has been
>Koffing + Weezing x1 each

>All the obvious support cards

Kangaskhan is by far one of the most frightening turn 2 tank/attackers. With 100 HP and a tough coin flip for only one energy, she can wreck the enemy while you ramp. Koffing and Weezing are great for stalling due to the poison. Dragonite should always come out as early as you can, preferably with your opponent having only one or two pokemon. If they have a full bench, pray your ass off that you don't get an even 50 spread twice in a row.

yes. If you ever get both at the start of the game, your deck will be no different than if you had both pika and both zap.

since the rest of the bench pretty much does nothing most of the time. it might matter in very tough match ups that are knock down drag out battles but those are few and far between

It’s the best deck, but even then, it’s not the monster people think it is. Biggest flaws that I think will show age within the next set are pika’s low health + the deck’s struggle to put up big numbers in the mid / late game. The big basic game is as consistent as the pocket can be for now, but pika also has the potential to brick or be unable to put up more than 30/60 damage for 2.

Not saying it isn’t the best deck, but if it was weak to water, I think people would be talking about how oppressive starmie is, instead.

How can you look at a t0 format and think it isn't "as strong as people think it is"? Any deck in ANY tcg getting 5/8 spots in a top 8 is INSANE anon. Again other than pika I do agree it isn't nearly as bad as people say

Agreed. It’s going to be tough for the deck if fighting gets anything on the level that electric and water got in this set. I don’t think pika is ever going to be a bad card, but its shortcomings are going to become more apparent with time.

Just as a reminder if you miss out on some missions the first time during the low level battles you can just go ahead and complete them, but concede the battle. That way you still get the mission completed but keep the battle point for the higher difficulties

Seaking and Tentacruel are nice and efficient. But yes, most of the water pokemon in the game are balanced around the idea that Misty pops off and rolls 2+ heads 25% of the time (as often as only rolling 1).

You can only use 1,2 and 3 diamond cards. Use the search filter when building. It wasn't hard, zapdps made it really easy. Just concede before the match ends so you don't lose an event energy.

Blitzle x1
Zebstrika x1 Backup dps.
Zapdos to tank those 90 damge hits.
And some filler pokemons.

I have grown to detest this game's gameplay, if you can even call it that. I really need some stability but most of the heavy hitters or strategies (Moltres, Marowak, Zapdos, Misty) require the fucking coinflip to hit heads for them to work. And I thought Mewtwo + Gardevoir was a boring deck, but at least with that one I don't have to worry about hitting something with Zap Cannon-tier of accuracy to do any meaningful damage, meanwhile the AI is playing under Battle Tower rules and hitting three Sheer Cold in a row.

Can you balance it?
Being an energy behind while also taking chip damage is fucking brutal but any obvious changes makes going 2nd the disadvantage
Maybe introduce more stage 1s with self healing since the intent is to allow evo decks an early evolution, but like that still fucks any regular deck

You don't need to balance it. People CHOOSE to play Sandslash but not the regular Marowak in their decks. They CHOOSE not to play Hypno, or Rapidash, or the Greninja line. That's their fault in deckbuilding. They look at pokemon that are good going first, turn up their nose because they seem weak when they aren't, and then complain when they have to go first and all their pokemon are designed to go second. That's on them, not the game.

I really can't believe how little hype this guy gets. The 20 targeted damage is big. You can field his stage 1 and deal 30 damage on your first attacking turn and either keep him in and push an advantage when he evolves or backline him for a stronger mid/late option while still keeping his active. It's insane.
