I wish existing lines would be fleshed out more, be they regional variants and evolutions, new megas or otherwise.
I wouldn't even mind new baby pokemon for the likes of Lapras and whatnot.

I guess regional is a good compromise to avoid a gen IV situation where the evos are not popular and some people feel like their favorite was "tarnished" by a random evo
We still got the good old cross gen evolutions

We only got 1 regional evolution in gen 9 so it is likely the concept didn't stick.
