Does he get a redemption arc? Internal Game Freak documents showed that they avoided depicting Yungoos post Sun/Moon because of his similarities to Trump. But with the election result maybe they'll not care as much

Memes aside, why isn't Gumshoos a fighting type if its entire identity is killing Alolan Rattatas? Being part fighting could've been just what it needed to stand out among the route 1 normal rodents.

Fighting type is meant to be mons that train and use the pokemon equivalent of martial arts. Saying he should be fighting type because "he fights other mons" is pretty retarded, by that logic like 99% of mons deserve to have fighting type tacked on except for meme answers like Magikarp.

Mankey and Primeape are just permanently angry apes that brutally beat down anything that looks at them funny. Paldean Tauros is just an angry bull. Riolu is just a dog with telepathy.
Passimian just throws things at others. Falinks just stabs things with its horn. Galarian Zapdos just kicks things really hard; there's no technique involved. Gallade doesn't use martial arts, it stabs and slices with its arm blades. Bewear snaps your spine with a literal bear hug. Great Tusk just rolls around or stabs things with its tusks.

Idk, Gumshoos is supposed to look like a detective with a hat. That you're traumatized with the orange funny man doesn't mean GameFreak would make a parody in their game. It's ridiculous.

Considering that we are going back to Poke-France and Mega Evolutions are all but confirmed to return, design based on some of the portrayals of inspector Clouseau from The Pink Panther could work, I guess?

Also worth noting that according to Pokedex entries Yungoos and Gumshoos are not native to Alola so some kind of "original" regional variant could work, too.
