3 stage mons are considered tempo/midrange/control style decks that if they survive the early game, they basically win late.
Pikachu is high aggro. It has to win fast or it struggles with Raichu being a basically one shot nuke to attempt to clutch it out.

Sometimes you brick, oh well. Any card can be stuck at the bottom of your deck, that doesn't make them bad. Charizard and Mewtwo are the second and third best decks in the format.

I have a full meta Mewtwo Gardevoir deck, I need Kangaskhans to round out my Dragonite deck, I need Weezings and Muks and 1 more Koga to build my Dark deck (Weezing could also fill my Dragonite deck), I have an Arbok Pidgeot deck, I need Mistys to build a Lapras ex deck, I need Blaines and Ninetales to build a Rapidash deck, and finally I'm working on a Primape deck. tried to play grass deck for my fullart erika, but exeggutor and pinsir being my heavy hitters is not the most reliable strategy, and with my luck not even a very effective one
today I'm trying out weezing/dragonite, and even though I only have one of each I still managed to win 5 games with it, so maybe I'll stick with that

Melmetal's biggest feature is that it needs to be 3HKO'd from full hp by Articuno ex. It takes a long ass time to actually get out and its damage is decent but it gets 2/1HKO'd by most of the threats, and it has a long time to get ready. And you need to keep Meltan alive. If amass was an ability it would be way better.

Anything that sets up quickly is gonna give it fits (Koga, Starmie, even Blaine decks). It can steamroll if the Garde comes out early but do what you can to delay their setup, Red Cards and Sabrinas are huge vs Mewtwo decks.

Honestly, I've been having an ok time against it with Venu. Depending on draw luck, Lilligant ramps up Grass energy very quickly for Venu and Mewtwo can't one tap it. Especially if you Erika, he has to discard energies and that window is all Venu needs to fold him. Sabrinas help survivability.

Jynx in the Mewtwo deck is so nice bros, went first in the mirror and set up a kill after he Sabrina’d me (xspeed the Jynx->now my first M2 has 4 energy and can take out his M2 with energy on it, this was before I had Garde or even Kirlia but it won me the game). In the "Offering rates" section of the boosters they mention they can adjust/ban cards to ensure a "fair battle enviroment" aka nerfs + buffs are on the table

But these decks will fall out of favor when stronger cards come out, cards like gard who is a physic energy gen will stay relevant though, she seems so strong and broken if she doesn't get nerfed

Now you have a dead card in your deck whereas if you would have used your Pokeball first you could have instead had a much smaller chance of drawing a basic off oak and making your second Pokeball useless.

Depending on how important it is to hit, the worst case scenario is something like this

Let's say your top three cards (in order) are
>Non-target basic
>Trainer
>Trainer
>Target Basic
If you ball and it takes that top card and you Oak, you don't hit.
If you Oak and then ball, you remove that top card and your ball hits.
In a game where doing things on curve is so important, there are cases where you just have to eat the possibility of ball being a dead card just to make sure you hit.

The advantage of ball first is that it minimizes the probability that you fish your basic out and then draw into it with Oak. The advantage of Oak first is that you're drawing first and possibly removing the basics you don't need at the moment from the deck so your ball can better target the thing you need.

Let's say you don't have your win condition (and in this case it's a basic). What's more important
>1) Hitting your win condition
>2) Not drawing more than one copy of your win condition

(1) is more likely with Oak - > ball and less likely with ball - > Oak
(2) is more likely with ball - > Oak and less likely with Oak - > ball

And anyway, the scenario where you draw a copy of your win con and then ball it isn't that bad because at least you still have your win con in hand. Sure, it could have been better if you had another card instead, but that's the price you pay for trying to maximize the probability of getting your win condition.

I always have the superstition that saving up summons in gacha and doing as big a bulk pull as you can gives you better outcome than just using them immediately as you get them. Just downloaded it, I want to say it's a good course correction for the game, but it might be a bit too bare for the time being.
I'm having fun so far though. I've made several decks I enjoy and won a few matches without spending anything so far. So it doesn't seem as bad as the last digital card game, which was fucking awful.

They both need 2 hits to KO each other, so I wouldn't call that "obliterating". But it does have the advantage of needing less energy (unless Misty happens) and the rest of the Thunder deck will at least be hitting pretty hard too, so it's pretty easy with that deck.

Ideally you get the chance to kill Staryu before it can evolve.
If their Misty flip fails and you can use Sabrina to drag out a Lapras/Starmie that has 0 energy, then the AI gets pretty fucked while you setup to something that outpaces them

They didn't need to release this right now. It's not like they were hurting for content and they could have just held it off until they had all the features ready for launch.

It's like PokemonGo all over again.
There was literally nothing to do in that game after the first little while. Once hype wore off player base dropped 95%. What was the biggest travesty was them giving you a starter pokemon, only to learn that it was stupid to waste your stardust on it.

Have you never played against Charizard? It's extremely simple for Moltres to pump Charizard full of 5 or 6 energy, enough for Charizard to nuke two turns in a row. Nuking two EXs is already a one condition. Dragonite is the only real common multi-energy deck. Personally I think 2 energy decks are "useable" as long ss each pokemon needs only 1 specific energy and the rest of the energy needs are colourless. You still get energy flooded with one type of energy sometimes.

I'm gonna be real, I think literally the only thing that matters in this game is whether your deck can play an ex basic pokemon or not. The birds, Mewtwo, and Pikachu are all nutso broken cards not because they're numerically OP, but because sometimes you brick a little bit and starting off with Zapdos in those cases sometimes still wins you the fucking game.

I genuinely think that Starmie decks, which are now the only decks that can play 2 Basic and one Stage 1 ex pokemon, are going to see a bump in playability. Purely because Lapras, an otherwise garbage card, is going to smooth out all those unlucky draws.

After testing multiple decks in multi I have come to conclusion that mewtwo and pikachu aren't meta at all and is same 50/50 as other competent decks
Instead it's cancer decks that open up with moltress or misty that have unfair advantage

Probably. Reroll your account and focus all if your hourglasses on the Mewtwo pack. That's the pack with the most decks in it by far. To give you an idea it has, without needing to open other packs:

It's easily your best bet to get a full deck quickly completely f2p

I understand Misty is important for water decks and is locked behind Pikachu packs but unless you are fully committed to that and not much else variety, I'd stick to Charizard and Mewtwo at the start and maybe craft a Misty card for 70 dust if you get an Art along the way.

They should put a limit on how many support and item cards you can have in your deck. Huge part of the balance issue right now is you can pack your deck to get win condition on like turn 1 with shit like 1 single EX mon with zero other mons in your deck. Force people to have variety so they need to fucking work for their endgame, not have it set up turn 1. Give them a reason to use more variety of shitmon cards. Tired of shit ending in 3 turns. It's not fun.

I can run an Articuno EX deck and win before my opponent can even draw their first fucking card, curtsey of Misty's slutty tight little anus. But it's not fucking fun. The most fun I have is with decks that actually use a variety of mons with multiple win conditions to pivot into, not relying on a single fucking breadwinner.

If my first hand has moltres and growlithe I can pretty consistently do v well. If it's just growlithe and ponyta, I stall with ponyta while I hope I grab a moltres quickly and I can sometimes scrape out a win if my opponent started slow too.

Other rewards are only for wins (Shinedust from missions, emblems from the event itself).

To get all rewards (emblems included) you need 45 wins.
To get all rewards EXCEPT emblems, you need only 10 wins.

Keep in mind, emblems don't actually do anything, they're just little cosmetics to display on your profile.

It'll probably work like Wondertrade.
You put a card in, you get trade randomly with another person for a random card of the same rarity.
It will probably also expend some kind of resource/stamina bar like Wonder Picks (with the 'cost' being equivalent to the rarity of the card, so Wonder Trading an EX card would cost you 3 or 4 stamina and you gain 1 stamina every 12 hours or something like that).

This method would, at the very least limit how much people can abuse it (you know, because wasting 36-48 hours of trade stamina to trade one of your dupe EX cards for basically a completely random EX card that could very easily be a dupe or just straight up a card you don't want would REALLY restrict people's ability to abuse the trade system to complete their collections, especially since all the players would be spamming the trade system with the crappy EX cards that no one uses so your chances of getting one of the good ones is lower than your chances of getting something that sucks ass).

There is something about the protection from Sabrina and Giovanni late game, with beefy stats that 2 shot everything.

Really wish it dealt 110 HP though so you could 1shot Pika with a Gio
I try pairing him with psyduck and it's really not the worst deck in the world.

A hunter that could survive pika would be sublime though, or at least 90 HP or introduce some defensive items.
