It's barely an event it's the same as random battle is now except you get rewards, butbI guess they're keeping it simple for now.

Later they will have consecutive win ones which I guess will filter Misty players.
Who knows, they might make interesting deck limitations in the future like no supports or EX or make a special battle event card or pool of them and force you to run it idk

Weezing Dragonite.

There is still RNG with how Draco Meteor targets, but it's still satisfying and can't completely whiff unless it decides 200 on the random <50 hp basic, which isn't too often and with that HP line DNite gets to take at least 2 Dracos and that's 400 damage across the board and usually I'll win you the game.

Most decks only run 4 basics anyway. The most you ever want is 5 and adding in that extra mon does actually hurt the consistency of your deck. Plus, Koga lets you recycle Weezing and use him multiple times. Just use this list and tweak it how you like.

I'm pretty sure I must be the luckiest f2p player in the world. I just finished the solo battles and got 2 pika ex (1 of which is crown), venusaur ex, 2 mewtwo ex (1 is moving art) back to back out of like 8 packs. literally what the fuck.

I remember when I traded cards with a kid and then a while later he randomly went psycho, rushed up to me to knock me over and jumped up and down on my back. Then I got called up by a teacher and his dad and forced to trade back. No he didn't get on trouble for attacking me by the way. The school did ban cards at school though.

I had a game like that recently. All my opponent had to do to win was play X-Speed and retreat to bring in his EX but instead decided to BM me by playing every card in his before the X-Speed. Including an evolution that increased the retreat cost of his active pokemon.

I never played the tcg in school but I remember someone got their card torn up and thrown around the room.

I picked up all the scraps I could and taped them together and payched the cards up, never knew the boy who had that happen to him.
By the time I was there and knew all I managed to put together was a ponyta and a vaporeon I believe.

So what's the best partner pokemon for the new Mankey? Primape is a go-second mon so you want something that can attack going first. Which means non-EX Marowak or Dugtrio. Or Hitmonlee. Thoughts?

funny that nearly everyone seems to either have some sort of trauma or has witnessed trauma related to Pokémon cards. maybe Pokémon cards have caused the most fights among kids back in the day lol.

Me and my sister used to have this big collection of the original base set through Gym Leader cards I loved playing with but they were technically hers as I was really young and didn't have anyone to play with or fully understood the rules of the game.

as an indonesian i have no experience regarding pokemon cards... back then everyone were too poor to collect them... but instead of cards there used to be trend of collecting pokemon tazos prize from snacks back then... i collected a few, a bully once tried to forcefully trade his tazos (i forgot which pokemon) to mine... i refused, got into a fight but thanks to the teacher things got resolved quickly without any of our parents involved... funnily enough i became friend with him months later

No, Tauros is dogwater. Grimer /Muk is there as a super late-game damage dealer, and to occasionally poison with Grimer. So you want something to fill a similar role if necessary. It's not the same but a single copy of Wiggytuff EX can potentially clean up games with chain sleeps. And sleep also traps like Arbok. You can also go with a yolo Aerodactyl, it's not consistent at all but if the coin is on your side he can solo any mon in the game. There's not really much for other options right now

At what point do you switch packs? I've been opening only Charizard and I have 2x Charizard Ex, 2x Moltres Ex, 2x Machamp Ex and 2x Exeggutor Ex. Only things I'm missing are Starmie Ex and a couple of uncommon mons like Charmeleon/Primeape/Ninetales. I do want them but I feel like I'd get better bang for my buck at this point switching to opening Mewtwo packs and buying the Charmeleons with points. I care more about gameplay options than different arts.

Is there no game replays? I guess it's a pretty casual game so it's not a big deal but I had a weird match where my opponent seemed baffled I was willing to let a Moltres ex get killed and give him two points against his mewtwo deck since I figured that he wouldn't have the energy setup yet to finish off my Arcanine ex before I rushed him down and won.
He didn't even kill my Moltres ex, he took some time to think, retreated his Jinx to replace it with the Gardevoir and let me kill his Gardevoir without really doing about it in two turns.
what was his endgame
though it was probably just some kid playing on his brother's/dad's phone but he seemed to have an idea what to do at the start

I play Melmetal and Weezing so I don't feel very limited.
But beside Exeggutor Ex you mention, other going 1st options doesn't feel consistant or powerful enough. Blaine sometimes works is very frail, and Weezing lack a bit of power to get kills with Arbok and so depend heavily on match-up and Giovanni.
Going 1st is, for the moment, too restrictive and is a real disadvantage.

I have fought rats before. I've won and lost and I even have a rat deck myself (minus a couple pieces). At least with rat you can try to play around it by pulling shit from the bench and killing it to reduce his damage, but a set up Mewtwo or, worse, a sudden Misty just fucks your entire game in one fell swoop.

There's also Weezing Alakazam. That list made to the top of a tournament. So long as I include a Weezing in my deck I've never felt bad going first. There are options. Try cutting some trainers from your deck and including a few go-first options. Meta decks aren't set in stone, nothing is forcing you to adhere to a set list that's disadvantaged going first.
Playing Mewtwo? Include Clefairy, it can evolve and attack and isn't weak to dark. Or Golbat so you can hit opposing Mewtwos for super effective damage in the early game. Or Mienshao to hit Pikachu for super effective damage. Or a Hypno to disrupt your opponents. There's Seaking for coin flip enjoyers or Venomoth, the grass type Weezing. It doesn't even have to be evolutions. Kang is a decent pokemon going first or second. I know people here think coin flips are anathema but even if Kang does literally nothing he's still a wall that buys you time and threatens damage, which makes him a better Meowth.

Its busted because its so easy to set up. Molt/zard and Mew2/Garde need at least 3 turns to set up. Articuno/Misty can set up in 1 turn right, but it depends on a flip. Pikachu Ex deck doesn't depend on anything an can set up in 2 turns.

Weezing survives the hits, while hitting back for 50 with poison and tackle, koga into arbok and its dead. It also has a good matchup against mewtwo.

If they start playing 1st stage basic mons, you can ruin their day with a red card shuffling the evolutions back in the deck. But I do agree with the notion it’s not required like say, two Misty’s in a Water deck, but bringing one copy can help in a pinch.

Mumu Player 12 plays flawlessly. No lag, no intrusive ads, none of that shit. Bluestacks works too, but it has lag and intrusive ads. Just make sure you play in portrait mode, not landscape. Landscape crashes the game immediately.

I had to craft 2 gardevoir since she fucking refused to drop even after I got 3 mewtwo EX.
Keep an eye out for weezing and arbok as well. I honestly think its the best deck for the meta since most people are playing mewtwo and pikachu, which it does well against both.

It's often pretty helpful as well. For a Mewtwo deck the sooner Gardevoir gets out the better. For Charizard, being fully evolved by your third turn can be a win condition provided you got good rolls with Moltres. So yes stage 2 Pokemon can and do often benefit from going first

Pika isn’t a braindead deck, anon. Its mid/late game damage output isn’t great, and the deck’s strongest cards hate being chipped. Compared to something like mewtwo, pika has more outs, but the game plan can be a lot harder to see.

You might need to play conservatively with your Mewtwo if you’re going first and/or got bad draws. It’s not a deck where the Mewtwo in the active spot always wants to aggro if you’re playing from behind, you just want /A Mewtwo/ building towards 4 energy so you can revenge kill. It really helps to run a Jynx as fodder and be smart with your Sabs and X Speeds, they’re not only for kill combos in M2 but for recovering time in the damage race.

I only tried it a few times, but I think Monke is the way to go. I like the Octopus gimmick, but starting every match with Clobbopus (2 energy/2 retreat) is fucking rough. I threw in a Kanga, but it didn't help much. I think Monke's speed will be great. The other one I was thinking of was Sandslash, but Mankey looks more fun.

I played it with Monke for a while and just recently made the switch to Dugtrio. I took out Monke when I realized I was winning for long games with Kabutops than I was having explosive Monke games so I thought something that plays into the long game plan seemed better. I ended up just crafting the Kanga. I still haven't pulled my second copy after like four 10 pulls, but I'm not mad. I've never felt the need for a second one. I just use it as a 5th basic in every deck that I use it.

I think going forward, the top tier decks will be the ones with a strat that benefits going first and a strat that benefits going second. We can already see it to some extent.

I’m an M2 player and it absolutely does not want to start first under any circumstances. The offensive pressure you can put on by going 2nd buys you so much more time to actually evolve the Ralts line, you only get lucky with early Garde occasionally but the deck wins through consistency

I might actually replace the potions for scope and another red card since hand control actually plays a huge part in this deck. Aerodactyl and Sabrina let you take over the board, and the biggest skill you can have is knowing when to retreat your monkeys back to the bench.

I met an asshole that tried to keep me hostage in game for 2 times already.

I assume their plan was to annoy the fuck out me so i will give up and they will get a win.
But no.
I was autistic enough to just sit/scroll 4chan and wait for all that time till their turn will end.

And no - they didnt have any connection porblems. From time to time they "acted" bu putting some energy or doing some shit yet not all the time.

I ended up winning but at the end stretched my victory by buffing everything up and evolving the rest of my team so just shit on them.
What a nasty bullshit.

Considering that they don't let you make flair unless you have more than 2 copies of a card, I think this is likely. Also you probably won't be able to trade cards of different rarities and maybe even from different sets.

Yeah like in most of "competitive online games".
At first we were playing just for fun. No loss is terrible and it's easy to give up and move on to try the next battle.

Now it's for points and for status/emblem. So many people will get mad.
Imagine if we would LOSE our points if you lost your battle... that would be an absolute Dota/Overwatch/etc. online gaming bullshit cancer.

At least with this version you will get on highest ranks eventually - it's just a matter of time but 100% guaranteed.

Venu EX has 190 HP and heals 30 while dealing 100. By itself it can already 1v1 the rat, but you can also use Erikas to heal another 50 a pop. Pika simply doesn't have the firepower to kill Venu if it's set up.

That our I just don't get the energy I need for the starter pokemon.
I'm starting to think a dual deck I should just run normal pokemon with dragonite.

I feel like he was mad his Arbok trap didn't amount to much. I might lose more than I win, but god I love this deck.

Oh yeah, I've used scrcpy before. Not the best for what I want since my phone is awful but my PC is pretty decent, but it's better than having the chance of a ban.
