All in all, I enjoyed Emerald a lot. I liked many of the pokemon designs, Groudon and Kyogre are awesome, the cutscene of their battle was cool as fuck and the pace of the game was flawless in the first half although it does fall off a bit when you get to Lilycove.
One of the reasons I chose Emerald is because I really want to try the Battle Frontier.
I was wiped out 8 times in total. 4 against that old fart gym leader with the electric types in Mauville because I refused to use a Geodude and didn't realize I could smash the rocks north of Mauville or I'd have found Numel earlier, then I lost 2 times against Glacia and 2 more times against Wallace. Set and no in-battle items except for the 3rd and final attempt against Wallace.
