Fossils in Mewtwo are so good. Very tricky to play perfectly but they're so fucking good in Mewtwo. Just got my 60th win. Don't even have a 2nd Geovani yet, which would obviously be extremely helpful. Only Pikachu feels like its on the same level.

The Misty glass cannons are bad I think, but the truly have unbeatable draws and you flip less coins than Mareowhack.

Absolutely, love them and it helps both the early and mid game from potential Sabina snipes, and sometimes all you need is the one extra turn given Mewtwo basically nukes every mon in the game.

Mewtwo usually doesn't run two Gios
Sometimes not even 1, it only really helps with Dragonite.
Even a Eirika + Butterfree + Healing Venusaur gets two tapped, and Giovanni would only help with ONE potion, assuming they don't have two and YOU have two Gios.

What a dumb game, I really like Machamp but having only one copy of a two stage Pokemon is really risky, but at least it beats using Marowak. We need more consistency cards as soon as possible.

I'm a humble pro Yi GI oh player, but I think geo is absolutely a must 2 of. You can one shot basics with it, which is super fucning important.
Red card is such an interesting and tricky card to play, but I'd definitely main 2 geo. 0-2 Sabrina seems fine, depending on how much mirror you expect. Potion is kinda as unless you're against articuno. I don't love red card, but I think it should fill out the list.
2 fossils for life though. Not even a discussion for me.

Speed X twice and put mewtwo on bench and fossil in play to get another energy to nuke them.
The list goes one.
Also, very importantly, you have your but draw w mewtwo and ralts Evos way more often. Playing jinks or Khan is retarded.

Playing Mewtwo I notice my biggest issues are with setting up.
I hate leading either ralts or mewtwo, but I can lead ralts for a turn to let me draw a fossil and an xspeed to switch in the fossil, or you know hopefully draw my second ralts.
Really not sure on the meowth given the potential pokeball fucking and him only being good turn 1 + not having mewtwo yet to stack energy on.

After playing more, I'm really impressed with red card in Mewtwo, but it is an extremely skill intensive card often. I've lost at least 4 matches to not red carding or red carding wrong

To me at least it's the best option. Yeah, they cost more, but 20% is way better than pack chances, and you can either craft the other cards, or wait to get them in packs.
I don't care about FAs.

In my experience thusfar it's really only been good against Dragonite or Starmie/Weeing, provided they don't have a potion since it takes 2 turns.
I've found him more dead often than not, unless I had 2.

What prominent 60 HP mons are there / 80 HP fighting mons?
Checking now
Pikachu voltorb blitzle and helioptile are valid, though you probably aren't going to be having many opportunities to smack them.
Ralts is fair
Ekans but they will just Koffing you, and either heal or Koga Weezing.
And then Meowth and farfetched but those are rare, same for pidgey which again you probably won't be seeing in the active spot.

It does seem to be help potentially with the mirror, pika decks that don't just slap down Zapdos, and against non-potioning Starmie and Weezing, so I will probably go up to 2 of the old Rocket Man.

There have been games in which Meowth allowed me to recovering from a lack of nutting.
I will experiment more without him but I don't just want to become a Misty player relying on nut or bust.
I already have a Misty deck if I want to go all in on the nut.

Fossils are a meme. Not being able to search for them means you only see them 10% of the time if you run TWO or only 5% if you have one. Jynx or Khan or Meowth are actually searchable, immediately doubling their appearence rate. Playing fossils is a gamble and it's just not worth it. Mewtwo needs more consistency in case of bricks and weak early games, not less.

It’s only sort of good for decks that need evolutions. Best a lot of decks can do is have a stage one with a one cost attack.

Maybe something like this. or replace the hellos line with normal zapdos and Pikachu ex to serve as tanks. Although Pikachu Ex does not like having Eevees on the bench.

Could also think about removing the heliolisk with raichu.

I don't run jolteon any longer because it makes my Pikachu deck weaker and can't serve as a tank as well as zapdos, but jolteon is probably more dangerous than Pikachu and zapdos because he gets online much sooner and does ridiculous damage. being able to deal 80 to 120 damage a turn earlier is sometimes game ending

Yep. Fossils are only useful in the early game, and if you're playing Mewtwo Ralts only you're better off swapping in cards that can actually be used in the late game instead of the 5% chance you do slightly better in the early game.

I honestly think it is somewhat balanced, it’s just a shame that Pika has such a high floor that everyone uses it, but it’s definitely beatable. Biggest thing for me is to fix dual energy to make more decks viable. EX Limit might make Mewtwo a bit too good since the other meta decks all lose something substantial.

Skill in card games is something that appears in long term due to variance.
Trying to get short term streaks is far more dependant on luck.
Unless you have a tier zero deck no deck will be able to safely beat all other decks, especially with the type system.
And even with a teir zero you'll likely end up in mirror matches which are coin flips if both sides know what they are doing.

I get the 3 points is probably so you can't sack anything greater than 1 ex, not even another basic, but 3 point matches can feel so short at times, but having more points would mean greater deck size too.

4 point 30 deck might be good so you can't lose 2 ex mons and still somehow win, but they need to introduce more cards before we go up to 30 card decks probably?
Surely in the current state forcing 10 more cards would just force you to put in random shit and ruin consistency, instead of having more varied pieces that work together since there just aren't that many synergies currently.

But just a little bit bigger deck please, as it stands decks can relaly only be 2 evo lines and your items.

I think going second would need a buff though if first could grab energy. First can already evolve first, I don't think the extra attack second gets IF they have a 1 energy mon is worth it.

You have a great backup plan of slower network as well.
All the basics have a 60hp. Also eggs is super underrated and geo let's you one shot it.
Eggs ex would be so good with another fast green mon next set. Mark my words that shit is fast and strong.

Tbh I prefer another sab. In my experience Mewtwo generally wants to have a revenge kill ready asap and you have to stall to get that until Garde is out, which is where Sabrina comes in. I love sniping mons for 60 especially with x speed retreat memes but desu if I’m ever clicking Psychic Sphere other than being forced as active, then I’m already leading the match

Not really. By only including 1 or 2 your Mewtwo/Ralts odds are still way higher. And since Mewtwo is two points, the fact that you actually have a mon that can do something before dying means you have more Mewtwo.
I've been trying out fossils and they're plainly inferior to using Jynx. Especially playing 2: you practically have two dead cards in your deck while you can search for Jynx and place that down to deal with Sabrina rather than just hoping you get a fossil. There's no reason to use two fossils, and 1 fossil is barely passable for its niche.

Jinks will significanntly reduce your chance of nuts when you take into consideration opening hands always having a basic and pokeballs etc. I could be wrong, but it feels so right to play fossils and 4 basics. Pikachu doesn't have a higher floor. it's not stronger than other decks. It's just harder to draw dead cards with it.

I think many of my other decks are more powerful than my Pikachu deck, but they have far more room to draw dead and not get the right cards. The cam happen with Pikachu but it's far less simply because Pikachu deck doesn't rely on evolving. Pikachu and Zapdos are the major carries and you can get them on board as soon as you draw them. That is what makes Pikachu deck good.

With that in mind you could probably do something similar with say Articuno and Lapras ex, only problem is they both require 3 energy instead of 2. But they have misty.

tldr; Pikachu deck isn't strong because Pikachu is a strong card, Starmie Ex is better in every single way besides being a stage 1, Pikachu deck is strong because there's no stage 2s and their evolutions to draw and potentially give you more unneeded bricks.

That’s what I meant by ‘higher floor’ it’s more consistent and has good early games with few brick states, it’s ceiling isn’t too much higher than other decks which is why Mewtwos and Zards also do well in tournaments but they don’t make up the vast majority of the top 100 decks like Pika does

This issue is that most water decks in tournaments DO run Misty, so they're prone to occasionally whiffing entire games due to bad coin flips eating their supporter for the turn. IIRC, there was one event where the only water deck that ranked well was the one the dropped Misty.

In casual play, wins weigh more than losses, so losing a game or two due to dead Misty wasting a card in your hand occasionally isn't an issue. But in tournaments, it'll completely destroy your win-lose ratio.

Yeah. If you obtain a card in a certain language it will remain in that language even if you change it from settings. Also, if you friend someone from a different language, their packs will appear on their language when you go to Wonder Pick, I got 4 of my cards that way.

There's other stuff you might be able to do, but that's just a super easy way to justify it as an example.
It's also potentially condensing your deck. Hypothetically, you're running two 2 Stage lines. You don't necessarily need the 1 Stages at all, because Candies replace both at the same time.
Hard to see that being useful currently, but the possibility is there.
I would imagine they won't do it, because it completely removes 1 Stages from the equation, and all Stage 2 need to be balanced around that. Easier to just make stronger stuff until you reach a balance.

Because Zapdos, the most broken card in the game, isn't weak to fighting. The Pikachu deck gets to exploit weakness on most of the other decks in the format, and also gets to run a pokemon with effectively no weakness.

It's mainly because your only options for generic trainer cards right now are Giovanni, Sabrina, Research, Pokeball, Red Card, X Speed, Fossils, and Potion. Once we get more trainer cards, you'll probably start seeing people start having to make harder choices between cutting staples.

I’m the same way. Growing up, I used to play irl with my friends at the local card shop, and I never really got nervous in that setting, even when playing people I don’t know. Something about the impersonal nature of online play and the salt people post online makes me project more negativity onto the online experience. No. It's a thing from the real TCG. See that tiny G in the bottom-left corner of Mimikyu? They change that letter every year, then retire a previous letter. For example

So presumably the first few sets will be series A, then we'll get series B. When series C comes out, A is now retired and their booster packs removed from the shop. When they say "your pack points won't be available to use in the future", they probably mean when those sets are rotated out. Not when the next set comes out.

Some decks are better than others but the more people play them the more evident it becomes that a few skilled players make the deck seem better than when many low skill players play the same deck.

I really think a lot of the people I this general should try a 12-16 pokemon deck, just for a few games. Just throw in all the 1-cost stage 1s from your type, and maybe a spicy stage 2 line or sandslash or something. I promise you'll learn a lot about the game.

Watched Jeudy/Soul Survivor’s stream earlier and he noted how low the WR is in tournaments compared to Pika despite it being ‘meta’. It can win from bad hands but you need to play a perfect game down energy placements and trainer cards. If you’re a pro it’s ‘doable’ especially if the opponent makes mistakes and you don’t have to deal with coin flips, which is why it still wins tournaments, but damn that shit is not easy and sometimes the deck still won’t do you any favors

I've think I finished the 2nd dif without getting any pack. So higher dif guarantees a pack, drops more dust, and gives you a chance to get shop vouchers as well.
My electric deck is pretty shit and depends a lot on rng (Electabuz, Jolteon) but I can still auto the battle with 80% win rate so it doesn't hurt to farm the highest diff compared to lowest one.

Look at pic related, these are all 2 diamond rarity cards from Charizard packs. I spent pack points to craft my first Charmeleon because I couldn’t pull one and I literally pulled like 4 different Charizards before I even had 1 Charmeleon. Then, it wouldn’t give me a second one until I went hard at opening Charizard packs.

They do this because the deck missions grant you more hourglasses to buy more packs and if there weren’t cards that were nigh impossible to get on your account, then you could probably complete most of the set for like 20 bucks.

Also, to counter that, the game straight up fed me Bulbasaur full arts and Venusaur EX’s right at the start, which I’m happy about, but my guess is they choose one starter per account and one of the pack mascots per account to load you up on. I pulled way more Charizards (which I don’t and won’t play) than mewtwos or pikachus, or even some less rare cards.

Unrelated, the way the odds work makes lower rarity cards actually more rare than the lower rarity cards. 2 star rarity cards seem to be the actual “rare” cards and crown gold and the pack promo video cards get handed out like candy.

I can’t figure out if I should run 2 Gardevoir lines or just 1.

If I run 2 it will put 2 raltz, 2 pokeballs, and 2 professors at the bottom of my deck, and give me the evos in my starting hand.

If I run 1 it will give me raltz and kirlia and never Gardevoir

If I add a Gardevoir to that, it will give me 2 Gardevoir and a raltz, but never a kirlia.

This is why people think fossils are good, because they trick the rigged algorithm.

This is pretty much true yeah. Crown Rares are technically still "rarer" but 1. they're available in all 3 packs so the chance isn't as low as it seems and 2. because there are only 3 of them, the coupon collector effect isn't as strong so you're much more likely to get an even distribution.

Just retreat into the second mewtwo, attach an energy, attack., then next turn you have 4 energy to oneshot whoever.

Worst they could do is sabrina you into ralts but they can't do anything fast enough to not get tapped by the Mewtwo setting up the net turn

Which accounts look the best in terms of usability? None of them have a Lapras EX promo except for the top right, and the bottom right has 120 Hourglasses saved up and I'm not sure if I'll use them or not. Aside from that, none of them have any hourglasses.
