>>56890524Every non-pokémon game they've made since after GBA games (I think) have been a Gear Project effort, which by its nature encourages non-directors to take directorship of a game project (usually of their own creation) and the teams used to make it are all a hodge-podge of talents, also generally doing something that isn't their usual day-to-day work on Pokémon. The games "suck" because it's not a long-term experienced director, with a team of appropriate talents working to earnestly produce a project but a method for GF to train staff who may not see the business end of Pokémon for many many years to glean some business-end game development skills as well as encouraging ALL their staff to hone their creativity, to just *create* something for the fuck of creating something that might be fun to play around with (I've heard people claim Card Jockey was decent enough, but it's not my bag so never touched it).
