>you should have used gym badges instead of routesThis is literally just me pointing out how Gym badges are indicative of the game pacing but E4 are not. The elite four is a boss rush by design. The gym leaders presupposed to be relatively evenly spread and progressive throughout the game. They are made to be in the whole part of the main game. E4s are blatantly finale battles. Otherwise they wouldn't be locked together.
