Even if holding buttons during a catch effected RNG (it doesn't) its not something you could use in a normal playthrough to increase the chance of catching, in fact it would be just likely to decrease the chance of a catch, but it actually does neither because there is nothing to change the RNG during that window.
Not only that but the calculation on the catch was determine when the ball was thrown
