That's correct. The more accurate translation would be that Gibeon deeply looked up to Lucius and aspired to be like him. Apparently in some situations, the Japanese word used can refer to romantic feelings, but I don't know how likely that is in a homophobic Pokemon environment.

It's funny since the documents have multiple instances of higher-ups specifically not wanting gibeon's motivation to not be as one-dimensional as that. Well, that and not wanting his motivation to be hating lucius either.

It's why I'm curious to see what was kept in the next couple of episodes from the docs. Specifically I want to see if the part of lucius helping gibeon escape from the collapsing rakua even after the betrayal was kept. I want to see the look on his face of "but i just stabbed you in the back???" as lucius drags him to safety. Yakuza does that alot and it's always funny/great.

IIRC, one of the documents detailing Horizons plot mentioned that one of the Explorers has like a sick sister, and they're in it to get a cure for their sister. I'll try checking the document again.

Which are the most popular Paldeamons anyway? Meowscarada is an obvious pick but I don't think it reached the same level of popularity as Greninja or Cinderace. Ceruledge was blessed by an early appearance in the anime, added in UNITE (like Meowscarada) and it's a Ghost-type which is inherently popular but I don't know how it fares with the big ghosts like Mimikyu/Gengar/Aegislash. I remember Clodsire being all the rage in Japan. Miraidon was also very popular and they even specifically mentioned that Violet sold more too.

I think you need to look at the comment in the actual context of the thread it was posted in instead of in the context of angry twitterfags looking at it out of context and acting like Yuyama raped their baby. It's from a thread where people were shitting on the Team Rocket episode from MPM because it wasn't the super important episode made to give the TRio or the Team Rocket organization as a whole a big permanent conclusion, where he's referring to the interview to explain that this isn't what the series was ever trying to do.

All this "why not" stuff is referring to how the series is just doing various low-key episodes about stuff they felt like doing (yes, with an overarching theme of Ash empathizing with Pokemon, if that's so important to you to make clear) and was never meant to be this grand victory lap where Ash sends Giovanni to jail in one episode, sweeps Tobias in the next, attends May and Drew's wedding in a third and so on. Some of it is "let's bring back this nostalgic Pokemon", and some of it is "Banette's lore is cool, let's do an episode about that", but none of it is the kind of super important event shit people had hyped themselves into believing they were getting and were shitting on the series for not providing.

In no galaxy is there any other person who would agree to these strange interpretations of Yuyama’s words, and a lot of the general enthusiasm for the project was lost. I have the whole interview in its entirety if you’d like to check it out for yourself.

Also I wouldn’t call you the r word lol, this is a fun and interesting conversation. It is odd though that the community collectively lets one person translate any JP material. You’d think somebody would’ve became a second source by now.

You're misinterpreting the actual context. He's not shitting on Yuyama or the series, he's defending him and it against people that are shitting on them for not being an epic 13 parter that concludes every random subplot that was left open.

Yeah, you can say shit like "The episodes were all meant to have a general “feel” revolving an Ash who’s out just doing his thing", but that doesn't change the fact that they had 13 weeks to fill with episodes and a lot of the episodes they made could've easily been tossed out without anyone feeling like there was something missing. Just because there's an overall feel to a set of 6 filler episodes doesn't mean they weren't made because they needed 6 more episodes, or that they couldn't easily have made 5 or 7 filler episodes instead of 6 if that's what was needed.

If "a lot of general enthusiasm was lost" because twitterfags looked at a comment out of context after 10 of the 13 episodes had aired, that says more about the twitterfags, really.

Lucius helped out a lot around the world with his Pokemon to the point where his Pokemon got memorized as heroes. Kinda more curious about what that woman and Gibeon were doing during that time. Were they traveling with him? Or were they already split up by then and most of the stuff from that storybook is him traveling to Rakua after losing his homie?

Haven't considered that. Him being in the possession of Terapagos speaks for after they were split up. That Lucius's own notes make no mentions of her or Gibson seems weird.

Girls are better with a cheeky , cheerful, confident and mischievous personality. This is why Dawn managed to shine as a co-protagonist which even Goh and Alain failed to do. Girls like them are actually more realistic & makes it easy for the audience to relate to them.

Beta doormat girl only work when they are extremely attractive with a crush on the main character which is why only Serena managed to become popular but Liko, Koharu and anime Lillie failed to gain the same popularity.

Looks like I was right about protagonist rotation again. Original protagonist needs to be involved in the show even if the mantle goes to the new protagonist.

Pokémon 2023 would only work if Ash reappears as a supporting character and help RVT from the sideline. Trying to bet the new series on an entire cast made of OC was a mistake specially after Alain and Goh flopped. Unfortunately some executives are too egoistic and overestimate their OC.

at this point it's obvious that it looks like Roy Rayquaza one shot Ash entire team . Heck Ash probably try to use Thunderbolt and not even understand Rayquaza too powerful for a Pikachu that even weaker than Cap . So maybe Roy go easy on Ash and fight with newer pokemon like maybe a baby Nymble that hop around and dodge all Ash attacks humorosly
