Gridlock fucking suck. There's a reason PMD doesn't gridlock outside of dungeons and Ranger, Colo, and XD don't gridlock at all. Zelda never gridlocked either on the same hardware.

We were robbed with XY as well. And not in a "oh these games are ass i want my money back" way, but in a "wow these games were supposed to be twice as large and have so much cut content you could build another game out of them" way
