ALL the box legends have genders dude. It's why Lugia was even changed to be male in the movie, because Ho-Oh was based off the female Fenghuang and had existed since at least late '96 (debuted in Ep 01 of the anime) and planned to be a boxart 'mon.

The problem people have with Reshiram is they ignore the boxart and marketing materials NEVER presented them as anything but the eyes of the yin-yang, by always presenting them on a black/white background to reinforce the connection to yin-yang. People think they ARE the halves of yin-yang on their own, which speaks to their ignorance of yin-yang AND their ignorance of Game Freak's particularity when it comes to shit like this (their hibernation states making it explicit they are the eyes of the yin-yang, by being a white/black orb).

Yep, design theory influences the designs, anything full of stark lines and hard angles is masculine, anything full of softy curves and flowing lines is feminine. And as far as I'm aware, no. Fug and Giratina seem to be male and Necrozma seemingly only gains a gender when it absorbs either Solgaleo or Lunala.
