Genuinely the worst part of the game is making Pokemon the center of the economy instead of items. You could have a ton of items ranging from resources to make TMs to learn from move tutors (the latter was in the game last I checked), vitamins for EVs and ways to upgrade IVs (I'd recommend stat bottle caps that have a chance of raising a specific stat to keep that economy strong by making them valuable in large numbers), ability capsules, maybe something to make Pokemon shiny (although that seems more like a cash shop item to me). Instead fuck you, your Pokemon are removed from existence every time you want to breed anything. Actual sociopathic behavior, fuck that shit. That one site that has a bunch of Yume Nikki fangames in multiplayer doesn't need to add an economy for no reason, it incentivizes play with more cosmetic rewards, achievements, and player ranking shit. You know, things that make you want to play a video game because of either the social aspect or you like seeing number go up. It's not like they don't have two BFs currently in the game that can support a system like that, on top of other bullshit they can just make up. B2W2's medal system would be really great for exactly this (I dunno if they've gotten to that version of Unova yet). Naturally I'll piss off the only schitzo who likes the economy aspect of the game, as he's probably a third worlder and this is his source of income, but I think there's better community aspects that are lost because of the focus on the economy.
