>>56958616While you did a good job, you left out two important things, the second of which that genuinely pisses me off. In both SM and USUM, you're directed to go to Exeggutor Island for a key item. The difference is that in SM, Lillie is present for that scene, and actually goes with you. Once you arrive, Lillie gets attacked by an Alolan Exeggutor, and you have to save her. Afterward, Lillie has a heart-to-heart talk with you, saying she finally understands the rush of being a Pokemon Trainer, is tired of depending on others, and wants to become a Trainer like you so she can become strong. When you return to civilization, she changes her outfit and hairstyle to show her character development. In USUM, she DOESN'T go with you, and changes her outfit basically out of nowhere.
Now, the thing that pisses me off: Part of Lillie's and Gladion's backstory is that Gladion was the first to run away, because he couldn't take it anymore - and this left Lillie to deal with Lusamine's worsened abuse and control freak nature alone for two fucking years. This happens in both SM and USUM. In SM, after Exeggutor Island, when you and Lillie bump into Gladion, Lillie actually snaps and tears into him, saying that his he abandoned her to deal with their mom's abuse by herself. This causes Gladion to realize how badly his act-before-thinking approach really is, and he apologizes to both of you, resolving to work together from them on.
In USUM, this scene never happens: Gladion is never confronted for abandoning his sister, and on that note, Lillie never calls out Lusamine, either.
