Haven’t played a Pokemon game since bw2. Looked at the new Pokemon and they all look shit, so I will be dumping my starter and catching only Pokemon from gens 1-4. Can I do this? I don’t want some ugly ass Pokemon in my team.

That’s why I’m playing it. People said it looks like shit and it’s a technical mess, but it’s fun as fuck. I literally don’t give a shit about graphics. So I’m hoping it’s fun to play

You can, even if it's retarded. Pretty easy to find mons with the open world and stuff.
You probably don't have the DLC, but you can get an egg containing a random Sinnoh starter in the first part of the DLC which you can play right after the tutorial section basically.

You can brute force basically anything in a base pokemon game.
I still love my gen3 mons but a lot of the gen9 guys are pretty neat and not super powercreeped.
Orthworm and Klawf are probably my favorites.
