I'm pretty sure Alphas won't return in L: Z-A. Whole point of them in L: A was the land was an uninhabited, relatively undeveloped wilderness, allowing pokémon to grow unrestricted. They introduced L: Z-A as joining the Lumiose urban RE-development project, implying the area was settled and developed by humans already, which makes it less likely pokémon inhabiting the area will grow to such sizes as those seen in an undeveloped land.
