Although I did watch an ova that was just focused around Gen 1 that was pretty good. The fights actually looked brutal, with the Red and Green fighting at the begin and the one starter grabbing the other one by the neck with its teeth.
Green got hurt trying to fight mewtwo I think. And there was mega evolution in kanto for some reason.
