does anyone know how pickup interacts with max item storage? if i have 999 super potions, will it just stop giving me them, or will i have stacks i can't pick up

trying to get rare candies but they don't drop :[

depending on the game you either won't be able to remove it if your bag is full or it will just make a new stack starting at 1. You can always just sell the potions though.

Pickup only fails if the Pokémon is already holding an item.

No, the item it pick up is random, based on the chart. It does not care about what is in your bag even if you have 999 repels it can still pick it up.

It makes sense to me. Pickup drops the item directly into the Pokemon's hold item slot, not your bag. No it doesn't matter what you have in the bag, since you could yourself just give it one of your max'd out items to hold, get another one to replace it in the bag, and functionally achieve the same thing as the pickup drop.

Hell, even if it did drop it into your bag, it'd make sense for it to just not drop anything on that roll. I don't particularly see the logic of it defaulting to another item in that case. You rolled a specific item, and that roll is always independent of what you already have.
