>>56978272That's not how cladistics works you retard. Canidae means "like/similar to dogs" and is a higher level grouping than the "Canis" which means "dogs". Canis include the Dogs/Wolves, Coyotes, and Golden Jackals, and specifically does NOT include the other Canidae such as the Foxes, Cerdocyonina, other Jackals, and Grey Foxes. Similarly the whole group belongs to a wider grouping called the Caniformes (Dog Shaped), which includes Bears, Seals, Skunks, Mustelids, and Raccoons. And even this is all irrelevant to the Chinese Zodiac or Chinese classical philosophy on which it is based, which does not count Foxes as dogs in any way.
