It should have been a ghost type. Something is constantly moving those gears and it's not electricity. I think a pair of haunted gears would have been easier to accept than an organism that somehow and for some reason looks like gears. I would have applied a similar philosophy to Vanilluxe too.

I think it's awesome.
As with a lot of gen 5 mons, it's kind of a reimagining of the same idea as Magneton, just pure Steel instead of electricity.

Unfortunately if a Pokémon is given neither absurd competitive stats or a meme-worthy anime personality, people tend to not like it.
It should probably have had Levitate since it's clearly doing that.
But a lot of it might be people being bitter that it's TOO similar to Magneton. I think there's room for both.

Nah Klinklang is pretty cool.

It's been once of my least favorite Mons as a kid but recently it's been growing on me even though I still think the execution is flawed. I made a quick redesign of it in Paint 3D
