I’ll give you music and graphics at least. At least they tried to do something with a new cast of mons too, instead of how derivative Gen 4 was in being just Hoenn again but with more KANTOOOOOO.

Endless focus on Kantomons and Kanto pandering; even down to the protagonists Sugi even admitted were derivative of the FRLG designs. DPPt were the first games to really jerk off the nostalgiafags, but the kiddos in 2007 were probably too young to notice.
