BDSP is the worst pokemon game and quite possibly the worst video game to ever be officially published on a mainstream console. I mean, you have a game that doesn’t even account for its own exp share system in its level curve, resulting in you always being overleveled, and doesn’t even fucking account for its own pokemon distribution with its regional dex or important trainer teams, something that Platinum, a game that came out 12 years before BDSP, did. Platinum actually expanded the DP regional dex, BDSP spammed encounters in a cave and called it a day. They have fucking "???" as their dex number on their profile for God’s sake, I’ve seen rom hacks do a better job.
Objectively speaking when you look at BDSP for what it is, it’s a nonfunctional mess that is more held together with duct tape than gen 1. And that is despite all the patches they made to fix all the glaring issues of the game. In fact, you can’t even play the game properly without downloading shit before, what’s on the cartridge literally isn’t even the full game.
If a game like this came out as part of literally any other franchise they would go bankrupt on the spot.
